Surely enough is enough,-bring in the strap for these teens who steal cars.5+belts across the bare buttocks should soon get the message across. Is there no common sense left among the powers in this country ? Zid.
Beijing’s Winter Olympics are fast approaching. So they have just completed their bullet train line 100 metres underground and 12 kms long including a 3 storey station along the way in 3 years. The line stops at Badaling closest station to The Great Wall tourist attraction. The journey used to take approx 1 1/2 hours now 27 minutes. Oh did I mention it’s also a driverless train! Sorry Mark!
What a low act from Labour. They lost the 2019 election because they flagged stopping Negative Gearing and Franking Credits . Now, after only 4 months of government they are proposing to tax fully franked dividends and backdating it to 2016! What a pack of mongrels. Joan
JPL says no chance of nuking Surfers Paradise and starting again. Maybe we need him to intervene in the drama OS. Make sure no nuking there either – The Bricky
Sardine City - the perfect name that describes Surfers Paradise. Personally I call it LegoLand, which is what it looks like from down the Coast. GR
What happens when people get taxed too much .... correct, they avoid it & yes the government miss out. So easy to get anything these days as a “cashie”. Supplier happy, customer happy & government 10% worse off. Taxman.
The Sydney Swans made two critical errors last week by playing an injured player in the grand final and signing up Lance Franklin for another year. After his performance on Saturday the other clubs that were interested must now be pretty happy he is staying where he is. Geoffrey.
Please stop wasting pages on possible high rises, they rarely ever eventuate and give their neighbors heart palpitations for nothing. Might as well admit that the articles seem to be the kiss of death to most of them. Daz R/Bay
Can everyone including the media calm down about nuclear weapons. No one is going to use them especially Putin, unless Russia itself was heavily attacked or nvaded. Hitler never used mustard or other poisonous gases for one reason only. Fear of retaliation even when the war was lost. The extra reason this time is Putin knows deep down that western technology and military weaponry (American in particular) is far superior to Russia’s.That probably includes America’s nuclear arsenal as well. The War in the Ukraine this year has proven it. DS.
If CO2 is a “net coolant in the atmosphere” as Jennifer Short suggests, why do the graphs of increased CO2 and the increasing average global temperature align so perfectly? Di Taylor, Varsity Lakes
I ain’t an analyst & certainly not an expert but I do remember when the average cost of a house & land was the equivalent of 1yrs annual salary. Now the ratio is more likely 10 times ...... maybe this is why AFFORDABILITY is the most commonly used word in the country at present. Common sense will bring about some corrections, not the reserve bank. Future mortgage applicants will never own their property. Do the maths. Ted.
“Improved access for waterway recreation (e.g. kayaks)” is one of the opportunities noted for Mudgeeraba Creek in the community consultation on the Robina Central Planning Agreement. Good luck with that with all the young hoons in aluminium dinghies speeding dangerously along the creek on weekends and school holidays.
Maybe we should have our hopeless PM - Albo- as a King - instead of PM? He’s already travelling the World, many dinner parties, handshakesand talks a lot of rubbish about climate change. We urgently need a replacement for the other village idiot- King Charles- and Albo would be perfect! Stan, GC
I’m absolutely loving Jennifer Short’s contributions to TTE! Please keep them coming Jennifer. GW.
