As if the Democrats’ destruction of the US economy and society wasn’t bad enough, they’ve now changed the rules of military engagement to permit their use of first strike nuclear weapons for non-nuclear threats. The Dems and their ideology are now certifiably insane. Republican, Southport

Latest buzzword started a few months back, “BELOVED”. See how many times it is used daily? Broadbeach Oldie

Saturday M1 - I travelled north & saw 4 lanes of car parking southbound most of the way. If our road situation (dual M1 which should have been built by now) was fixed think of all the emissions saved instead of having to go down other paths to achieve this.

And there’s also a parking lot every week day southbound.

Netball Australia Questioning Gina Rinehart’s ideals on First Nation people. I have one question for them - Did she put any stipulations on her $15m donation, like no indigenous players allowed on the team? Obviously, No but NA still question her ideals. Good on you Gina.

Hyperbole, let’s take it to it’s logical conclusion, Not First Nations, but First Empires. GR

The rooftop structural bars on the Oracle Building, held together by ratchet straps for two years, are not very aesthetically pleasing. The building itself is and a better option than a dragged-out two years repair job of the existing bars could have been a striking new feature that better complements an otherwise landmark building.

For the last two days the incessantly story has been about the lady who could not use her wheelchair on the plane and had to crawl down the aisle. In the ancient days of my youth, a call to the first aid room would have brought up a litter and two big blokes would have carried her off! Where has we gone too? Danny, Pottsville

To Jeff Davidson, who hated the Super cars this last weekend & suggested we should have Formula EPrix instead. How exciting, a race that’s all over in an hour.

AJS say the government should scrap the $11 billion in subsidies to fossil fuels. What about the $13 billion earned in 2020 for fuel excise tax? Please tell us AJS how big the subsidies are for solar panels & wind farms. I’ll bet that makes the $11 billion look piddling. John Mc

A comparison website has found the average mortgage holder is expected to be paying an additional $906 per month in repayments by the end of next year. Of course a lot of mortgagors owe more than the average so some extra budgeting could be required to make ends meet. In some ways the increased interest rates are a good thing. They should result in lower house prices and force people who were seduced into more extravagant lifestyles than they could afford long term to rein in profligate spending. Unfortunately, there will also be people who are not profligate spenders on day to day items but over-extended themselves to buy their homes.

The ISIS brides aren’t the cause for concern, it is their children we have to worry about when they come of age. TerryS

JS (GCB 1/11/2022) Actually, the silliest claim is that reliable information cannot be researched on Google. The source of the information available on Google is the key. A reliable source.

Frankly, it’s embarrassing for a sovereign nation like Australia to have a government still tied to the apron strings of Old Blighty. And don’t come up with bs like the “If it works, don’t change it” or suggest there is no acceptable alternative. Today’s Australia is culturally diverse and it’s time to mature away from the monarchy. There are plenty of countries around the world that thrive as proud and independent nations with forms of government that work as well as ours.

Guran has sent word the Phantom is well and doing undercover opp for the Bengali police commissioner no further details. The Guru.

The suggestion that sending 60 year old US B52 nuclear bombers with their newer Rolls Royce engines to the NT will precipitate an arms race is ludicrous. The Chines and US militaries have been in an arms race for a long time.

Rising interest rates and inflationary cost of living pressures might see some of those very expensive and, until now, mainly cosmetic kitchen appliances get used more often.

Imagine how much money will stay in

Australia if the multinationals threatening to leave if more unions are formed do. Gas, Aged Care, Detention Centres, Irrigation, Meat Processing, are just a small fraction of the multinationals that would come back to us. Then think about how the extra profits being spent in Australia instead of going offshore would benefit us. Their threats are hollow we are their golden goose (MUGS) they are going nowhere.

Brazil’s election (01/11) was stolen using the same methods and equipment as the 2020 US election. Like Trump, Bolsonaro won his second term in a landslide. The dark forces manipulating elections all around the world despise democracy and they hate us common people. Luke

Having just moved into the Palm Beach area and looking for a new watering hole I was pleasantly surprised to come across the Palm Beach Currumbin Sports Club where the staff are attractive and effective.I will definitely be back especially on

Saturdays for the race tipping participation.I would thoroughly recommend popping in to see Julie and the team. Brian

If anyone is scared of the dentist I thoroughly recommend making an appointment at The Pines shopping centre dentist where you will be pleasantly surprised at no hurties.ex doubter.

Australian anthem rendition at the MC by Cody Simpson was really nice and not a screaming match like many others of late at recent events.. well done Cody. Doug

Just read about this battery park. OMG!!! What an absolute nightmare and farce! Renewables are crap, it’s a climate scam, we have plenty of coal and gas. And Europe has learnt their lessons and are against Green garbage now, they’ve dismantled the rubbish wind farms to go to coal base power. From a Conservative awake Gold Coaster

Scotty in wars with bogan

I bet Albanese won’t buy back homes that flood in other states of Australia, only in NSW. Like where most tax dollars end up in, western Sydney and NSW.

To Curious, GCB Text The Editor, do your research! China is by far and away the biggest producer of solar power. Here are the figures up to the end of 2021 in Megawatts .... China 306,973 MW, United States - 95,209 MW, Japan - 74,191MW. Australia comes in at 7th with 19,076 MW.

Not too sure that young folk understand the meaning of what “tightening the belt” actually means.” It basically means, forsaking every luxury you’ve become used to - hair, nails, clothes, shoes etc, to doing all that’s necessary 100%, to

keep a safe roof over you & your families head!

Oh Please. Home interest rates now 2.85%. I was paying 18% on my first home. But I drove an old holden, had a basic house. Fancy taking an $800,000 loan. Pull your belts in. Sell the BMW and the Jeep for driving the kids tov school. Terry K

If the government placed solar panels on every roof in town and used the existing power grid, it could have the same result as a solar farm without the need to buy large tracts of land and kms of power lines.

Re Jetstar wheelchair debarcle ..... where were all the so called “gentlemen” when this was allowed to happen? Broadbeach Oldie

When inflation is allegedly caused by overseas events, notably NATO’s odd involvement in a skirmish between two non-NATO countries, how does raising domestic interest rates do anything except make it worse? Curious
