If someone in the 2Oth century had predicted seemingly sane people would one day be Investing in digital currencies and non-fungible tokens and paying US$44 billion for a company making a loss of US$3 million per day (Twitter), they would have been laughed out of the room. What has the world come to?

Mark Bailey says there is going to be full consultation with the community re light rail to the airport. He then says the project will be completed by mid 2023. So it doesn’t matter what the residents say. But he can say there has been full consultation, what he won’t say is that the project was to go ahead anyway. Barney

Dr Meg Perkins. A very informative article. However releasing brain damaged people on the streets to repeatedly offend is not acceptable. Society needs to be protected. As of now, restraint is the only method instantly available. Jeff

Another conspiracy theory. This one claims Google has a political agenda it promotes through biased algorithms. God save us from such nonsense.

Even those with the least education can recognise truth when it is presented plainly. Here’s two plain truths. Fewer people died from respiratory disease during the covid “pandemic” than in the years before and after it. If the globe was warming the seas would have risen quite noticeably by now. Now search “Operation Mockingbird” and ask yourself why those who control us lie to us to scare us into particular beliefs and patterns of behaviour. Lawnchair

LNP leader, David Crisafulli, claims plans for a new $1.3 billion public hospital in Coomera are not advancing quick enough. For the record Labor governments, which built Gold Coast University Hospital and acquired Robina Hospital and expanded it in three stages at a cost of over $300million, have the runs on the board when it comes to public hospitals.

Orman, Bulletin 7/11, yes you’re right re what a budget is, unfortunately ‘forward estimates’ are the killer. If estimates don’t materialise, too bad, govts still spend it. Should be wiped and run like any business has to. FG

How can Australian casinos be deemed unfit to hold a gambling licence but if Govt fines them $100 million then everything’s okay?

To Marie GCB.7/11. We have solar panels but have never gloated about it as you say, we just feel very fortunate that we have them and are able to use electricity without worrying to much about how much we use and we are retired, it is not our fault and we did not put people in the situation some are in, so please do not blame us for others misfortune. we have worked and saved hard to have what life style we have. And do not and will not apologise for it. Nan.

I’m baffled why Alinta hasn’t pulled the pin on there sponsorship of the Aust cricket team.

The soft approach clearly doesn’t work especially with a state Government that has put it in the too hard basket with everything else .So is that the norm now we just deal with juvenile delinquents running the show I certainly hope not. 4221

Banks !!wespac profit over 5 billion , I’d like one of the chief executives to try and find one when you need them, they are closing everywhere , if you call into a pub to withdraw cash , they deem you as a problem gambler, the little bloke from Nerang

Wouldn’t it be good if Elon Musk could buy Qld and put the cleaners through the Govt like he did at Twitter. No harm in dreaming. Barry.

To Chopper: Didn’t they build the Sydney Harbour Bridge from both ends?

Mann’s cartoon on Monday is bang on the money. Community consultation for light rail extension to Coolangatta is lip service only by the worst transport minister Qld has ever had. Mark Bailey will do whatever he likes and bugger the residents. Mickeyh

Dr Meg Perkins - what a load of bs. They must go into boot camp not your loving arms – Ozman

So Chalmers, our treasurer studied economics and budgets for a deficit of $33B. I thought a budget was so you did not spend more than your income as otherwise you are bankrupt. Oh sorry I forgot we are already bankrupt- Ozman

Why is Megan Scanlon being promoted with so many photo

shoots in the GCB while she has done nothing or even questioned about our horrid youth crime - Stan Forgham

On tv tonight Coolangatta businesses saying they can’t wait for the tram as it will bring more business. Well I hope you have deep pockets while they build the most expensive transport system outside your business and you are fenced off It will make Covid lockdowns like a dream. Best of luck. GN

If you want to break the traffic rules come to Barr’s Ave Oxenford. 80% of drivers drive on the wrong side of the roundabout, both coming and going. The police know about but they areonly interest if there is an accident. The local council know about but cost prevents it from turning the section into a T section. Cars park incorrectly in the streets and nothing is done. Inspectors drive in and out of the estate several times but nothing is done. Last week the parking of vehicles prevented vehicles leaving one of

the streets and any emergency vehicle entering. In order for vehicles to get out they had to drive on the footpath. You contact our local member and he passes the problem on you would expect and that where it ends. Nothing is of any interest to the Council in this interest. Squizz.

The AFL should be ashamed of themselves for allowing Richmond FC to dictate what grounds the womens finals are played. The Tigers home ground holds 2,000 spectators which sold out in 15 minutes, which leaves about other 10,000 fans from both Melbourne clubs missing out on attending the semi final.Home ground advantage means nothing to the majority of fans if they can’t attend to watch it at the ground. It shows disrespect to the fans who love their team, when it should be played in the evening at neutral Marvel stadium without competing against the Matilda’s Soccer game at virtually the same time for spectators and eyeballs on TV.

If we were meant to have daylight saving the sun would rise an hour earlier. Jack

Willi Munzenberg, the German-born Bolshevik who started what we now call “woke” way back in 1917, would be so proud that the racial division element of his system of attacking western nations from within has precipitated into the Australian PM seeking to insert racism into the nation’s Constitution (8/11). JS

No, mortgage pain is not “inevitable” (08/11). At least it wouldn’t be if our “publicly owned” central bank didn’t march in lockstep with privately owned foreign central banks and if our politicians didn’t all march in lockstep with privately run foreign globalist bodies like the UN, IPCC, WHO, and WEF. Bad Hat Harry

The article in the Bulletin about pressure on young footy players is right. So often we get these great young talents on the Gold Coast,

they get promoted early to the NRL level and then what do we do with them ????? We crap on them the minute they don’t live up to the expectations. We need to do a better job of making sure that these kids don’t get thrown to the wolves.

Labour’s new changes to the Industrial Relations Law is a unnecessary joke. Employers are already stressed out about the job laws. You can hire but cannot fire! Yes employees all want high wages to cover the costs of living. Employers are doing it tough also and you want Unions to have more power with ridiculous demands. So Albo stop spending our tax money wasting it all on silly things , giving away and your overseas trips, you wanted the job, you promised everyone heaps more but so far everyone is suffering with increased costs. In 3 years time are you still going to blame Scomo for your own mess of Government. If you’re Government stopped wasting money employees can get paid more. KB Tweed
