Regarding the metal ferns. I think placing them in the “botanical gardens” (I mean to use the term lightly as they are woeful compared to regional gardens) why not put them at HOTA or sell them for scrap. They are a very attractive work of art, fern or not.

Claims about the dire consequences for marine environments if the numbers of apex predators such as sharks and crocodiles were to fall, seem a bit exaggerated when you consider the world didn’t end when dinosaurs became extinct.

Seems like the state of the Surfers Paradise glitter strip is turning into a blame game when everyone with a stake is to blame.

How on earth did the Surfers Plaza

Resort Tower received development approval when 55 cars have to park on adjoining land not part of the development and now sold for redevelopment? And you wonder why there is a parking crisis on the Gold Coast that won’t be resolved until humans learn to teleport and don’t need cars.

Is it that bad luck follows Bill Shorten or does he cause it. In charge of NDIS and millions are being ripped off and when in charge of AWU they ripped millions off lowly paid cleanersOzman

Finally Mr Hydrogen Man from Southport has got it! In his letter to Your Say (GCB 10/3). He says ‘EV’s will save the planet as they don’t produce Carbon Dioxide’. Congratulations, Darryl, I knew you would get it in the end!

Albo is coming after your super, your franking credits, capital gains on your home, capital gains on your shares and whatever else they can get their grubby hands on. Power prices rising out of control and not reducing as Albo promised - Really Scared

The voice of reason. Thank you Paul Weston for your sensible contribution to the debate on a proposal to develop a bungy jumping facility on the Spit.

Would anyone in a high position at Gold Coast City Council, give the residents of Cotlew Street an undertaking that the roadworks will be completed in time for the 2032 Olympic Games?

I wonder if the audio from the St Kilda AFL coaching box that unintentionally became public gave any indication as to whether new coach, Ross Lyon, intends to adopt the dour, uninspiring, unexciting, boring, low-scoring defensive, game plan that was the trade mark of his previous coaching forays. Most supporters will hope the AFL continues to promote fast, open, more high scoring and exciting viewing.

Flog the silver ferns off to NZ. PJ Robina.

Forget about purchasing costly nuclear submarines that will not be available until 2030. Just let US nuclear submarines operate from north Australian ports and re-direct the billions of dollars into missiles and drones.

Uneven playing field. Back in the day only a token deposit, or none at all, was required by a builder before they commenced building your home. Progress payments were made to the builder only for the value of work done. Why should builders be paid large deposits? They don’t pay deposits to their subcontractors or suppliers who bear the brunt of liquidations.

Jeff Davidson fri’ Bulli’. Of course Peter Dutton won’t bring up Robodebt. It was a shocker which will haunt the right as long as you weak lefties, keep blaming others for their mistakes. Get over it, move on , and accept your own failings which are hurting us now. M Macleay.

About time the Albanese government and the ABC came clean and issued revised and detail maps of Australia showing clearly all the “countries” claimed by all our indigenous “mobs”. I for one am lost watching various programs on TV as I have no idea where the picture is coming from. That way we might also be able to work out how many treaties we are likely to have to enter into after the voice referendum. Philby TUGUN

There is so much proof of deep state corruption emerging in US House Committees it seems certain the corrupt deep state globalists will unleash a new mass distraction, likely either a new pandemic or a nuclear war very soon. Watch this space. Higgs

Bill I guess you are right about the NRL having a longer season than AFL.That’s because they play only half the amount of time on the with a breather every 5 minutes during

play. With actual playing time only half that again (ball movement),they should be able to play nearly all year round,or at least minimum 30 rounds to play each other twice. Little value for money in my book. DS

To T brien , don’t forget that our great Ex pm Morrison told the premier to get a bid to secure the games, genius!!

How convenient the travelling Elbow/ albo is in India for the cricket. He should be here sorting a country out that is about to financially implode. Far too much travel and not looking after the home affairs. Which is more important?

Unforgivable and irrefutable. It’s unforgivable for the big supermarkets to be making record profits and price-gouging when their customers are struggling with cost of living pressures. Irrefutable evidence of price-gouging are the number of items that have had their prices raised by 20% or

more. Just one example of a 20% rise in price is a packet of 4 council bin liners that has been raised from 99 cents to $1.20. It’s outrageous.

Thanks Australia Post. I paid extra to send parcel for great grandsons birthday, I was told it will be there next day ,Now 4 days later STILL no parcel. Missed his Birthday ,No idea where it went. And no one helps. Just telling me send Email. How? I don’t have a computer..Only had to go from Runaway bay Post office to Redcliffe.. Wonder who took it???

There’s a lesson to be learnt from the prodigal son..soon as the money runs out..the son returns home. with no friends and broke..hope albo reads this. poppy the pimpamaian.

I to am sick and tired of all the negativity about the Olympic Games coming to corner of the world in 2032,from those people who are not interested in Sports or hate them as well as who are not in

business.Schools and hospitals get their fair share of funding regardless. For people who hate Sports, concerts and tourism, there are plenty of country towns in the outback where they can live in peaceful surroundings. We have to have infrastructure built to cope with 80,000 population increase every year in SE.QLD. With the Olympics coming to town it’s the only way to fast track these projects even if they are not finished on time. The Godfather.

The Titans come crashing back to reality with the St George game. Had been hearing it all week about this team but let’s face it, Rd 1 was just the Tigers. Until they get some genuine centres and fix up that backline issue this team can’t compete with the big (or not so big) boys in the NRL.

The Karen Rowles v Mark Bailey stuff is fantastic, keep it coming. Can’t sit down in a room together so use the Bully to hash out your BS.

Do we really need a bungy tower on

the spit????? Come on GC we have plenty of thrill attractions. Need to try and keep something for ourselves a bit closer to the heart of the city. All the natural stuff can’t be in the hunterland.

Go out, get charged a bomb to drink on GC, time to just drink at home. That’s one level of inflation I can’t handle, Jimbo

Titans fans????? It’s awful quiet now isn’t it, The Bricky

Rugby union, yeah think I’ve heard of it. Pipe down you lot, it’s NRL season.

I’m all for Surfers getting a spruce up but $138m. Council you lot are kidding yourselves. So many other suburbs deserve that sort of coin and never see it. It’s time to get real and realise that the Gold Coast is more than Surfers, Broadbeach and Southport.

Sam Stolz was right in the Bulletin, weekend traffic is a nightmare. Make it too hard for people to go out, makes it hard for local businesses to survive waiting for people to come and spend.
