Family man Joe finally counts right up to seven
According to his fans and enablers, Joe Biden is the folksy embodiment of oldfashioned family values, personal decency and dogged political perseverance. That’s why Biden was the right man for the White House, those enablers insisted throughout the 2020 US presidential campaign. America’s gentle grandpa would heal the nation following four years of tragically high employment, shocking energy independence and appalling foreign policy stability.
But even before damning revelations emerged late in 2020 from his son Hunter’s “laptop from hell” – revelations the senior Biden brazenly dismissed as Russian disinformation – old Joe’s familyfriendly falsehoods were already shaping to take him down.
In 2019, then-presidential candidate Joe was asked by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy about Hunter taking a paternity test to prove he hadn’t fathered a daughter with stripper Lunden Roberts.
The paternity test, presented to an Arkansas court, proved he had. Hunter was a stripper baby daddy, so Doocy reasonably enough ran this news by grandfather Joe.
“I’m wondering,” Doocy asked, “if you have a comment on this report and court filing out of Arkansas that your son Hunter just made you a grandfather again.”
“No. That’s a private matter. I have no comment,” Biden snapped.
“But only you would ask that,” he continued, flashing a hostile smile. “You’re a good man. You’re a good man. Classy.”
Hmmm. “Classy” isn’t usually an insult you’d aim at someone else after your own drug-addicted cash-siphon son knocked up a stripper and then tried to skip out on child support.
Thereafter followed a peculiar dance whereby Biden mentioned his six beloved grandchildren and the media ignored that his total grandchild count was seven. Poor little Navy Joan Roberts, Hunter’s daughter, became invisible.
“I have six grandchildren,” Biden said as recently as April, during a White House event for children.
“I’m crazy about them and I speak to them every single day.”
Except for Navy, now four years old, who thanks to legal action brought by her father, has lost the right to use “Biden” as her surname.
If you still need your heart broken after reading that, search online for images of Christmas stockings hung for Biden’s grandchildren above a White House fireplace.
There are only six of them. These Biden people are so damn cold their DNA could reverse UN chief Antonio Guterres’s “global boiling”.
Then, earlier this month, the story of Biden’s shunned seventh grandchild leapt from conservative media to the leftist New York Times.
Below the headline “It’s Seven Grandkids, Mr President”, columnist Maureen Dowd wrote: “The President’s cold shoulder – and heart – is counter to every message he has sent for decades and it’s out of sync with the America he wants to continue to lead.”
As many speculated, subsequent focus group responses to Biden’s granddaughter denial must have been devastating – because Biden last week decided that he did have a seventh grandkid after all.
“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” President Biden said in a White House statement. “Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”
His statement makes matters even worse. One day, that little girl will learn she was acknowledged only because “family values” Biden wanted to win re-election.
