Us­ing 3mm nee­dles and yarn A, cast on 11 sts. Work in K1, P1 rib un­til band mea­sures same length as front hem to neck edge. Break yarn and leave sts on holder.

BUTTONHOLE BAND

Place 9 re­mov­able mark­ers in fab­ric of buttonband, evenly spaced, with bot­tom but­ton ap­prox. 4 rows above hem and top but­ton ap­prox. 4 rows be­low neck. *Work in K1, P1 rib un­til work mea­sures same as buttonband to next marker, end­ing af­ter a WS row. Buttonhole row 1 (RS) Patt 4, cast off 2 sts, patt to end. Buttonhole row 2 (WS) Patt to cast-off, cast on 2 sts, patt to end. Rep from * un­til all but­ton­holes have been worked. Work in rib un­til buttonhole band mea­sures same as buttonband.
