The Knitter

“THE STRESS of the day melts away as you pull the massive, soft cables of this blanket around you, enveloping yourself in luxury and letting tranquillity overcome you,” says designer Melissa Schaschwary. This cabled blanket is worked in one piece from the bottom up, using a bulky yarn and 9mm needles to create a satisfyingly thick fabric; circular needles are used to accommodate the large number of stitches. The project is knitted in Malabrigo’s Chunky wool, which comes in a huge range of neutrals, pastels, brights, and self-striping colourways.
