Next row: K3, pm, turn work 90 degrees, pick up and knit 1 st from side edge of strip, pm, turn work 90 degrees again and pick up and knit 3 sts from cast-on edge. 7 sts. Next row: K3, P1, K3. Work all 6 rows of Chart A, either following chart or written instructio­ns. 17 sts. Work Chart B 4 times. 41 sts. *Work 8 rows in Stocking Stitch Pattern. 24 sts inc’d. Work Chart B 4 times. 24 sts inc’d.** Rep from * to ** 4 times more. 281 sts. Work Chart B twice. 293 sts. Work all 16 rows of Chart C once, then work rows 1-12 again. 377 sts. Work Chart D once. 393 sts. Cast off as follows: Cast off 2 sts, *cast on 2 sts using the cable method, cast off 4 sts; rep from * to end.

FINISHING

Wet block shawl to measuremen­ts, following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band, and blocking the border into scallops. Weave in ends.
