(make 2 alike) Us­ing 4.5mm cir­cu­lar nee­dles, cast on 95 sts. Do not join. Row 1: K1, *P1, K1; rep from * to end. This row sets moss stitch. Work 7 rows more as set, inc 4 sts along last row. 99 sts. Change to 5mm nee­dles. Work­ing 24-row re­peat as set on Chart A, work­ing 16-st re­peat 4 times across each row, work 166 rows (6 re­peats plus 22 rows). Leave sts on a holder.

JOIN­ING FRONTS TO FORM BACK

Next row (RS): Patt to last 3 sts for first front, hold­ing sts of se­cond front be­hind your work, K2­tog next st to­gether with first st from se­cond front to join your work, (P2­tog next st from both pieces of work to join, K2­tog next st from both pieces of work to join) twice, patt to end of se­cond piece. 195 sts. Work 1 WS row in patt as set, work­ing cen­tre sts in moss st. Next row: Patt 97 sts at set on Chart B, work­ing 16-st re­peat 4 times, patt 98 sts as set on Chart C, work­ing 16-st re­peat 4 times. This row sets chart place­ment. Work­ing 24-row re­peat as set on chart, work 165 rows (6 re­peats plus 21 rows). Next row: Patt to end, and AT THE SAME TIME dec 8 sts across row. 187 sts. Change to 4.5mm nee­dles. Work 8 rows in moss stitch as set. Cast off in pat­tern.
