The Knitter

Intriguing dip stitches bring colour and texture to Fay Dashper-Hughes’ hat and mittens on

Combining a dip stitch pattern and a self-striping yarn, this hat and mitts set is cheerfully colourful

-

THIS HAT and matching mitts use two-coloured dip stitches. “This technique might look tricky, but is easy to get to grips with,” says designer Fay Dashper-Hughes. “The extra yarn used means extra squish and warmth. Seven sizes are given for the hat, so you can get a nice fit from a toddler up to a large adult. The ribbed mitts fit snugly around your hands, and nine sizes are given.” Fay has used two hand-dyed 4ply yarns from RiverKnits.
