Sophisticated cardigan with an array of Fair Isle motifs

- MARY HENDERSON

“I WAS inspired by Japanese sashiko embroidery, and loosely styled Japanese jackets, for this knitwear design,” explains Mary Henderson. “The Fyberspates Scrumptious yarn has a lovely soft handle which gives a beautiful drape to the fabric.” Bands of large diamond and OXO motifs are paired with ‘peerie’ Fair Isle patterns, The body is worked flat, while the sleeves are knitted in the round; a checked colourwork pattern is used for the hem, cuffs and neckbands.
