Shetland Wool Adventures Journal Volume 02

This celebration of craft and creativity is a real treat for fans of Shetland’s knitting and culture. Part pattern book, part travel guide, it’s a limited-edition magazine which will bring a little piece of Shetland into your home.

There are six knitting projects from local designers, including Fair Isle tank tops by Wilma Malcolmson and Linda Shearer. ‘Up Helly Aa’ is a yoked sweater with a band of colourwork, and there is modern top with lace and colourwork details designed by Anne Eunson. The collection includes Fair Isle mitts from Ella Gordon and Barbara Cheyne.

The book also contains Shetland-inspired recipes, walking guides to three of Shetland’s most beautiful locations, profiles of island artisans, and a series of historical essays exploring Shetland lace, the Highland Clearances, and the Up Helly Aa festival.
