INTERIM BLOCKING

Pin pieces to measurements given in blocking diagram and steam, following any yarn care instructions on the ball band. Do not let iron touch the surface of the knitting, to avoid flattening the surface texture. Allow pieces to cool and dry before removing pins.

NECKBAND

Join all raglan seams using mattress stitch.

With RS facing and using 6mm circular needles, beg at left back raglan seam, pick up and knit 22 sts along neckline edge of left sleeve, knit across 4 front raglan held sts, pick up and knit 5 sts down left front neck, knit across 12 ( 12: 14: 14: 14) front neck held sts, pick up and knit 5 sts up right front neck, knit across 4 front raglan held sts, pick up and knit 22 sts along neckline of right sleeve, pick up and knit

20 ( 20: 22: 22: 22) sts across back neck.

Pm and join to work in the round.

Work in 1x1 rib until neckband measures 10cm from picked-up edge.

Work one more round, then, leaving sts live, fold neckband to inside of garment, break yarn leaving a very long tail and using a tapestry needle, use the yarn tail to stitch down each live stitch to the corresponding stitch on the picked-up edge of the neckband.

Note: If preferred, you can cast off the neckband before stitching it to the inside of the neckband, but ensure you cast off very loosely to allow the neckband to stretch sufficiently.

FINISHING

Join side and sleeve seams using mattress stitch.

Weave in any remaining ends on WS of work.

Give a final light steam, paying particular attention to seams and following any yarn care instructions on the ball band.
