Break all yarns.

Work Sections 2 and 3 as for Back.

Work as for Back for 14 (12:12:10:8) rows.

156 (178:214:236:280) sts.

Mark 52 (56:60:62:68) central Front neck sts with locking st mrks at each side. There should be 52 (61:77:87:106) sts for each side of Front neck outside of the mrks.

Next row (RS): Cast off 3 (3:4:4:5) sts, patt to mrk, break yarn G, cast off 52 (56:60:62:68) central sts using only yarn H removing mrk at last st, rejoin yarn G to rem sts, patt to end. Transfer left shoulder sts to a holder or waste yarn.

Cont on rem 52 (61:77:87:106) sts for the right shoulder.

RIGHT SHOULDER

Row 1 (WS): Cast off 3 (3:4:4:5) sts, patt to end.

Row 2 (RS): Patt to end.

Row 3: Cast off 4 (4:5:5:5) sts, patt to end.

Row 4: Patt to end.

Rep last 4 rows another 6 (7:7:8:9) times.

Cast off rem 3 (5:5:6:6) sts.

Break both yarns, leaving one yarn tail approximat­ely three times the length of the shoulder slope for seaming.

LEFT SHOULDER

Transfer held left shoulder sts back to LH needle. With WS facing, join yarns G and H yarns at left neck and patt to end.

Row 1 (RS): Cast off 4 (4:5:5:5) sts, patt to end.

Row 2 (WS): Patt to end.

Row 3: Cast off 3 (3:4:4:5) sts, patt to end.

Row 4: Patt to end.

Rep last 4 rows another 5 (6:6:7:8) times, then Rows 1 and 2 once more. Cast off rem 3 (5:5:6:6) sts.

MAKING UP

Seam shoulders using the long yarn tails.

NECKBAND

Using 2.75mm circular needles, 40cm long and yarn J, starting at left shoulder, pick up and knit 21 (23:25:27:31) sts down left neck edge, pick up and knit 52 (56:60: 62:68) sts along Front neck cast-off edge, pick up and knit 21 (23:25:27:31) sts up right neck edge, pick up and knit 52 (56:60:62:68) sts along Back neck cast-off edge.

146 (158:170:178:198) sts.

Join to work in the round, and pm for beg of round.

Round 1 (dec rnd): P21 (23:25:27:31), pm, P3tog, P49 (53:57:59:65), pm, P3tog, P18 (20:22:24:28), pm, P3tog, P to mrk, remove mrk, P3tog, pm for new beg of round.

138 (150:162:170:190) sts.

Round 2: P to end.

Round 3: *K to 1 st before mrk, remove mrk, CDD; rep from * another 3 times.

Cast off rem 130 (142:154:162:182) sts.

SLEEVE BANDS

Place a locking marker on the side edges 17 (20:23:25:27)cm down from each side of the shoulder seam.

With RS of Back facing, using 2.75mm circular needles, 40cm long and yarn J, pick up and knit 48 (56:64:70:76) sts from Right Back mrk up to shoulder seam, pick up and knit 48 (56:64:70: 76) sts from shoulder seam to Right Front mrk. Remove both markers. 96 (112:128:140:152) sts.

Work back and forth in rows as foll: Next row (WS): P1, K to last st, P1. Next row (RS): K1, P to last st, K1. Next row (WS): P to end.

Cast off all sts pwise on the RS.

Work second sleeve band in the same way, starting from Left Front mrk.

FINISHING

Sew side seams from hem to sleeve bands.

Weave in all remaining ends.

Wet block garment to measuremen­ts, taking care to keep straight lines and to flatten the hem, and following any yarn care instructio­ns on the ball band.
