100g of pot to help her back pain
A 22-YEAR-OLD carer was caught with almost 100 grams of marijuana.
Rachael Mary-Ann Glennis Mccrory pleaded guilty on Wednesday in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court to possessing the dangerous drug.
Duty lawyer Samantha Legrady said Mccrory, who cares for her 90-year-old grandfather, had purchased the marijuana for medical use.
“It’s a lot of cannabis,” Magistrate Mark Morrow commented.
Mccrory told the court she purchased the drug every four months to reduce pain from back problems including arthritis.
She was advised by the court to seek medical treatment for her pain and ordered to a 12month probation order. No conviction was recorded.
