THE Bush Banter’s
stamp of approval goes this week to our national postal service, doing their bit for drought relief.
Australia Post has released a special edition Drought Relief stamp to help raise funds for Rural Aid, the charity behind the Buy a Bale campaign, with the aim of raising $200,000. Starting this month, booklets containing five stamps, are available for purchase for $5, and with each booklet sold Australia Post will donate $2 toward relief efforts.
“Our special edition stamp is about showing support for people across Australia affected by drought,” Australia Post managing director Christine Holgate said. There’s 100,000 booklets in total, which we estimate would involve a lot of stamp licking. Thirsty work requires a pot and parma for a farmer down at the local.
