THE Queensland Government continues to support rural businesses through its $10 million Rural Economic Development Grants program.

Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries, Mark Furner, said the RED Grants were available to help fund agriculturalrelated projects that could generate employment.

“Up to $250,000 is available as a matching co-contribution to successful applicants,” Mr Furner said

He said expressions of interest received to date represent a wide range of agricultural industries.

“Proposals so far for this initial round have come from sectors such as livestock, horticulture and aquaculture,” he said.

“Some projects are looking to value-add existing rural businesses, while others are looking to develop new products for domestic or export markets.
