Anzac Day clash heading to SCG

The Northern Star - - SPORT - — AAP

ANZAC Day rugby league will return to the SCG next season for the first time in more than three decades, with the traditional clash between the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra to shift for the next three years.

The move, to accommodate Allianz Stadium works, will be the first Anzac Day game at the ground since Canterbury and South Sydney’s clash in 1986.

SCG Trust chairman Tony Shepherd described the Anzac Day Cup as the largest and most significant NRL match outside the finals series.
