Kanye gives Trump some soul

The Observer - - WORLD -

RAP superstar Kanye West isn’t afraid of showing how much he loves Donald Trump and proved it in dramatic fashion yesterday, leaping from his seat at the White House to hug the President.

“I love this guy,” West declared in the Oval Office.

The rapper had been invited to lunch to discuss prison reform but turned what would ordinarily have been a staid White House photo-op into what must have been one of the most unusual encounters in the Oval Office’s history.

Talking at speed on everything from Mr Trump’s protectionist trade policies to black gun crime and “infinite amounts of universe,” West left the normally talkative president almost speechless.

“That was quite something,” Mr Trump said at the end of West’s monologue.

“It was from the soul. I just channelled it,” the musician said, adding – to gasps from onlooking presidential staff – that Mr Trump “might not have expected to have a crazy motherf...er like Kanye West supporting him”.

West said a lack of “male energy” in the US and in the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign caused him to support Trump for President.
