Yearly election could solve our problems

The Observer - - YOUR SAY -

WITH another election coming our way this year we are again being promised the world.

Either side is going to do this or that to make our miserable lives just a little bit happier. When one lot promises something, the other ups the ante and wants to give us more.

This has happened since I first started voting and with a couple of notable exceptions nothing earth-shattering has ever happened.

The possible solution would be to have an election every year. The costs involved will be insignificant as we would always be in surplus and everyone would be fully employed.

The pollies would be on tenterhooks not knowing if they will get their job back the following year. JIM CARTER, Elliott Heads
