The Queensland Times - - NEWS -

A LAIDLEY aged-care community partly funded by money raised by the local community has just celebrated a major milestone.

Carinity Karinya Place turned 50 on November 30, with residents, family members and staff members past and present celebrating the milestone with a morning tea.

Carinity Karinya Place care manager Kathy Nicholls said it was wonderful to reflect on how the facility had transformed over the past five decades.

“Karinya Place is now a 62room community with around 80 staff and is one of the largest employers in the Laidley district. We are proud to have such an important connection with the community over many years,” Ms Nicholls said.

“Laidley is such a wonderful place to live and we are happy to have provided a comfortable home for residents who love the district.”
