Town’s business association gets revamped

-

ECHUCA Moama Business Trades Association decided on a new name and direction at a meeting last week.

Now known as the Echuca Moama Business Association (EMBA), the group has several exciting initiatives for the new year.

President Daniel Mackrell said there was a new look and feel to the association and the name change reflected that.

“We’ve hit the ground running in 2018,” he said.

“The revamped strategic direction will have an official launch in late March at a breakfast meeting that will showcase how EMBA will advocate, facilitate, partner, create and lead to assist businesses to grow and be profitable.”

A shop local gift card will be the first marketing campaign by the group.

It is an initiative proposed by the organisation which will see local money spent with EMBA members.

Mr Mackrell said EMBA would be looking at partnering with organisations, businesses and individuals so the association and its members could prosper.

‘‘Consultation is critical for the economic success of the twin towns and no-one will be left out if they want to have a say,” he said.

‘‘EMBA’s scope can be utilised for members who need assistance to advocate for better streetscapes or more user-friendly parking spaces to assist in lobbying local government or state departments.

‘‘It’s about working with others that have common goals. An example could be working side by side with a service club like Rotary to hold business breakfasts.

‘‘Or utilising the new 208 Incubate hub and working with other businesses to achieve better outcomes at their events.’’
