$1000 for Marie by simply buying local
MARIE Lock is the final winner in the Forty Winks Shop Local promotion.
After buying clothes for her husband Les at Lords Fashions Marie said she was stunned to receive the phone call with the news of her big win.
“I just could not believe it when the Riverine Herald rang and said I was a winner, but they had it right when they said my ticket had been lodged at Lords,” Marie said.
“That helped convince me it was true.”
Lucky shoppers have shared $5250 – provided by major sponsor Forty Winks on the corner of Hare and Heygarth streets.
The annual Easter retail promotion has been established to encourage locals to keep their money in the local economy and shop at home.
McPherson Media sales director Haydn O’Neale said the enthusiasm of the retail precinct for the promotion has made it a major event on the annual calendar.
“We are fortunate to have had the strong support of Forty Winks since this promotion was introduced six years ago,” Haydn said.
“It has been the cornerstone of the campaign and has made quite a few people across the twin towns very happy,” he said.
“Amazingly Lords Fashions had two of the three major prize entries and Collins Booksellers had one major winner and a minor winner in bother the other draws.
“We look forward to bringing this successful event back in 2019 and to the support of business and consumers to continue supporting the EchucaMoama economy.”
Haydn added there had been loads of positive feedback from shoppers and businesses.
“It’s great to hear every year that businesses have seen an increase in foot traffic and sales because of the promotion,” he said.
“Every year across all the participating businesses we receive thousands of entries and it’s always nice to contact the winner to let them know they have won and hear their reaction.
“And it’s just as nice to contact the business from where the winner was drawn to let them know that one of their customers won.’’
