MRC gets al­most $50 mil­lion fund

COUN­CILS in Mur­ray will re­ceive a to­tal of $49.2 mil­lion this fi­nan­cial year to sup­port lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties. The Coali­tion has al­lo­cated the first quar­terly pay­ment of $6.2 mil­lion to lo­cal coun­cils in Mur­ray un­der the 2018-19 Fi­nan­cial As­sis­tance Grant Pro­gram.

“This grant can help coun­cils de­liver in­fra­struc­ture projects and fund health, re­cre­ation, en­vi­ron­men­tal and em­ploy­ment projects,” Mr Drum said. “Coun­cils are free to spend this un­tied fund­ing based on their own lo­cal pri­or­i­ties in­clud­ing the in­fra­struc­ture and ser­vices our com­mu­ni­ties need.
