MARISA Yea­man will launch her book The Yea­man Fam­ily in Aus­tralia at the Echuca li­brary on Fri­day.

The 254-page book ex­plores the his­tory of the Yea­man fam­ily who ar­rived in Aus­tralia in 1841 from Ed­in­burgh and set­tled in the Ten­nyson district as se­lec­tors in 1873.

This book tells the story of the early devel­op­ment of colo­nial Vic­to­ria and also parts of the Cam­paspe re­gion through the lives of one fam­ily, as they lived it.

Marisa Yea­man is an ac­com­plished singer/song­writer and a ge­neal­o­gist.

She will dis­cuss the process be­hind writ­ing a fam­ily his­tory and some of the unique re­search dis­cov­er­ies made dur­ing her work which led to her work­ing across sev­eral con­ti­nents and cov­er­ing a time pe­riod of more than 250 years.
