HDFNL to fea­ture first night game since 2017

LEITCHVILLE-GUNBOWER will be­gin their 2019 premier­ship de­fence against Mount Pleas­ant on April 13 at Leitchville.

While LBU will look to un­veil its re­vamped lineup side at home in round one against Heath­cote, as it looks to con­tinue its resur­gence af­ter a strong 2018 sea­son.

The HDFNL an­nounced its 2019 sea­son fix­ture on Thurs­day, which will fea­ture a Fri­day night game for the first time since 2017.

White Hills will host Mount Pleas­ant on a Fri­day night in round two of the sea­son un­der lights, in what can hope­fully be a cat­a­lyst for more night games.

The first big game on the cal­en­dar for our lo­cal clubs will be April 20, as LG faces off with grand fi­nal foes North Bendigo for the first time.

The two clubs will play again in round 11 on June 29.

Both sides pro­duced yet an­other stun­ner on grand fi­nal day, with a late charge by North Bendigo not enough to pre­vent back-to-back flags for the Bombers, who won by nine points in one of the games of the year.

Lo­cal der­bies will take place be­tween LG and LBU in round four on May 4 and round 13 on July 13.

The league will break for the AFL Vic­to­ria Com­mu­nity Club Cham­pi­onships on May 18.

The sea­son will cul­mi­nate with the HDFNL grand fi­nal on Septem­ber 14.
