2 small fires at Moama
TWO small fires outside Moama yesterday (pictured right) were believed to have been caused by a vehicle.
Three Moama Fire Brigade tankers and one from Thyra were called to the roadside grass fires on Thyra Rd at 12.03pm.
Mid-Murray Inspector Doug Adamson said the fires were less than a hectare and didn’t cause any major damage or risk to property.
‘‘They appear to have been started by a vehicle; either a crook wheel bearing or a flat tyre,’’ he said. Firefighters took less than an hour to extinguish the fire.
