MRC’s not playing with its funding
SEVERAL Murray River Council recreation areas will receive new playgrounds or fitness equipment thanks to $255,470 from round two of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.
Moama Adventure Playpark will benefit, with the outdated swing-set and track-ride structures to be replaced with a new multi swing set, basket swing and rope climbing structure.
While the Moulamein and Wakool Recreation reserves and Tooleybuc’s Mensforth Park will also receive upgrades.
Murray River Council deputy mayor Gen Campbell said the funding had provided a great opportunity to install some fresh equipment on behalf of the community.
“All these projects have resulted from consultation with various communities and user groups. This funding has allowed us to deliver items that are of importance to residents,’’ she said.
Project works are expected to be undertaken throughout the next 12 months following final consultation with relevant user groups.
