MRC’s not play­ing with its fund­ing

SEV­ERAL Mur­ray River Coun­cil recre­ation ar­eas will re­ceive new play­grounds or fit­ness equip­ment thanks to $255,470 from round two of the NSW Govern­ment’s Stronger Coun­try Com­mu­ni­ties Fund.

Moama Ad­ven­ture Play­park will ben­e­fit, with the out­dated swing-set and track-ride struc­tures to be re­placed with a new multi swing set, bas­ket swing and rope climb­ing struc­ture.

While the Moulamein and Wakool Recre­ation re­serves and Too­ley­buc’s Mens­forth Park will also re­ceive up­grades.

Mur­ray River Coun­cil deputy mayor Gen Campbell said the fund­ing had pro­vided a great op­por­tu­nity to in­stall some fresh equip­ment on be­half of the com­mu­nity.

“All these projects have re­sulted from con­sul­ta­tion with var­i­ous com­mu­ni­ties and user groups. This fund­ing has al­lowed us to de­liver items that are of im­por­tance to res­i­dents,’’ she said.

Project works are ex­pected to be un­der­taken through­out the next 12 months fol­low­ing fi­nal con­sul­ta­tion with rel­e­vant user groups.
