The Riverine Herald - - NEWS -

IF YOU live in Strathallan, have ever lived in Strathallan or even driven past Strathallan you are invited to the Strathallan Hall committee’s Christmas party on Saturday night.

In fact if you have never had any connection with Strathallan you will still be welcome.

The committee’s Christmas pizza night gets underway at 7.30pm and will include a Christmas tree ready for Father Christmas who has found time in his busy schedule to be there about 9pm.

Committee president Kevin Shead said it would be a community night and the evening will be a casual affair inside the hall and in its grounds.

He said the party was ladies bring a plate and BYO drinks.

“We’re building up to a big milestone next year — that’s when the hall will turn 90,” Kevin said.

“I signed on to help a bit — that was 30 years ago.

‘‘I’ve been president ever since and my wife Ruth, well she didn’t have much choice and she has been hall secretary for the same time.

‘‘We’ve seen a few Prime Ministers come and go,” he laughed.

“The hall has had a good life – the Red Cross helped keep it going during the war – and we’ve been doing it for a while now.” Anyone interested in attending the party can contact Kevin or Ruth on 5482 3955.
