En­vi­ron­ment strat­egy

CAM­PASPE Shire Coun­cil adopted the en­vi­ron­ment strat­egy 2018-22, which sets out the le­gal obli­ga­tions and other re­quire­ments of coun­cil re­lat­ing to en­vi­ron­men­tal man­age­ment, at last month’s coun­cil meet­ing.

Mayor Adrian We­ston said in ad­di­tion to coun­cil’s statu­tory re­quire­ments, the strat­egy also iden­ti­fies or­gan­i­sa­tional part­ner­ship op­por­tu­ni­ties, key to achiev­ing mu­tual en­vi­ron­men­tal ben­e­fits.

“The En­vi­ron­ment Strat­egy is an im­por­tant doc­u­ment, pro­vid­ing guid­ance and di­rec­tion to coun­cil on en­vi­ron­men­tal is­sues, and looks at what en­vi­ron­men­tal ac­tiv­i­ties coun­cil must do, as well as chooses to do,” Cr We­ston said.

The en­vi­ron­ment strat­egy is avail­able on coun­cil’s web­site.
