Best-performed team was Jim Ferrier, Tony Deenen, Jim Thomas and Carly Taylor, who won their game by 14 shots. In the division three match against Rich River, the team of Lee Beattie, John Blair, Jack Shearer and Bob Pratt won by 16 shots, which included the maximum score of eight on one end. This enabled the threes to win by eight shots overall. Division four lost by nine shots to Lockington, despite the team of John Hollowood, Ron Payne, John Cowan and Trevor Rickard winning their game by 27 shots. The division five side also competed against Rich River. Echuca worked hard all day, and closed the gap in the second half, but could not quite manage a win, losing on both rinks by a total of nine shots. Bowls results from the club saw Kevin McCreevy and John Cowan take out the men’s pairs on Thursday, with Russell Kelly and Bill Curnow runners-up. In the twilight mixed triples on Monday the 19th, Col Walker, Maurie Spiers and Toby Egan were the winners, with John Blair, Anna Meyer and Joan Armstrong runners-up.
