The Cal kicks ERH can

THE Caledonian Hotel social club has presented $400 to Echuca Regional Health.

The money will be directed towards men’s health projects at the hospital.

It is an annual tradition that the club hands over any surplus funds.

Club president (and also Cal publican) Dave Cunningham said the money was raised from events run through the club, such as social outings, clubs and entertainment.

“The club has been running a long time – it was well and truly established by the time we got here,” Dave said.

“It is a motley collection of Cal people who enjoy doing a range of activities together,” he said.

“In recent months we have done winery tours, been to the races and the trots and similar.”

Dave said they tried to point money at the most diverse range of beneficiaries.

He added in recent years it has also made a significant donation to the Echuca-Moama bike club after a deliberately lit fire destroyed all the club’s bikes and supporting equipment.
