Campaspe’s council plan ‘lapses’ at meeting
AT ITEM in Campaspe Shire Council’s agenda lapsed at the December meeting because it did not receive a seconder.
It was recommended council authorise mayor Adrian Weston to advise the Local Government Minister and the health department secretary that council had reviewed and determined the Council plan remains appropriate.
Deputy mayor Vicki Neele moved the motion at the ordinary meeting but when mayor Adrian Weston asked for a seconder no-one came forward so the item was lapsed which means it will come back to a future meeting.
The Local Government Act 1989 requires the plan to be reviewed at least once in each financial year. The plan is council’s key strategic document for the term of council. Having been adopted in June 2017, this is the second review.
