Riders burn track

The Riverine Herald - - GAMES ON SUMMER -

AMIDST the threat of searing sun and torrential rain, Echuca-Moama experienced all four seasons in one day on Saturday.

All this just as the 2019 Echuca Moama Junior Track Carnival was trying to get under way.

Fortunately for the more than 100 riders from around the state, after a short break due to rain, racing was allowed to resume.

Talented youngsters gathered at the Moama Velodrome, coming from as far afield as Brunswick in Melbourne — with some astounding results recorded on the day.

Echuca Moama Cycling Club president Ray Hamilton said with 52 events held on the day, it was more like controlled chaos than anything else.

But with a bit of help from the weather, all races went smoothly — much to the enjoyment of those on and off the track.

PUTTING ON A SHOW: Riders round the bend.

PACK MENTALITY: Competitors pace themselves.
