Sigma D-Photo Am­a­teur Pho­tog­ra­pher of the Year com­pe­ti­tion open for 2015

The an­nual Sigma D-Photo Am­a­teur Pho­tog­ra­pher of the Year com­pe­ti­tion is open to sub­mis­sions. This year has seen a great level of sup­port for the com­pe­ti­tion from com­pa­nies within the pho­to­graphic com­mu­nity, in the form of cat­e­gory spon­sor­ship. This year’s cat­e­gories in­clude Cre­ative, spon­sored by White Stu­dios; Land­scape, spon­sored by ProGear; Mono­chrome, spon­sored by Il­ford; Na­ture, spon­sored by Vanguard; Peo­ple, spon­sored by Pro­foto; and Travel, spon­sored by Mo­mento. And there’s a brand-new cat­e­gory aimed to in­spire young and emerg­ing artists to get in­volved. The Ju­nior cat­e­gory is open to 16–24-year-olds, and is spon­sored by the Uni­ver­sal Col­lege of Learn­ing (UCOL). We’re ex­cited to see what this cat­e­gory brings to the ta­ble, con­sid­er­ing last year’s over­all com­pe­ti­tion win­ner was Edin White­head, who was just 20 years old at the time. The lat­est cat­e­gory in­clu­sion is Ac­tion, spon­sored by Go­Pro.
