AIPA Break­ing into Fash­ion Pho­tog­ra­phy

Later this month pho­tog­ra­phers look­ing to take their first step in fash­ion pho­tog­ra­phy will have the op­por­tu­nity to learn from one of the coun­try’s lead­ing pro­fes­sional fash­ion shoot­ers.

The Break­ing into Fash­ion work­shop, run by the Ad­ver­tis­ing and Il­lus­tra­tive Pho­tog­ra­phers As­so­ci­a­tion’s Photo Academy and tu­tored by com­mer­cial pho­tog­ra­pher Aaron K, will be held in Auck­land on June 27.

Aaron K is an award-win­ning fash­ion pho­tog­ra­pher who has pro­duced imagery for look­books, cat­a­logues and ad­ver­tis­ing cam­paigns for clients such as Ric­o­chet, Il­licit, Lara Parker, Doosh, and many more, as well as fash­ion ed­i­to­ri­als for mag­a­zines like Remix,

Pulp, and Sta­ple. The half-day course will cover such sub­jects as the in­ner work­ings of the fash­ion in­dus­try, cre­at­ing the kind of port­fo­lio that will at­tract fash­ion clients, find­ing suit­able col­lab­o­ra­tors, shoot pro­duc­tion, and in­te­gral busi­ness skills.

The pro­gramme costs $161 and runs from 1pm to 5pm, with a guar­an­teed max­i­mum class size of 12 to en­sure a qual­ity learn­ing ex­pe­ri­ence — visit pho­toa­cademy.nz for book­ing in­for­ma­tion.
