Global photo con­test open for en­tries

The Olym­pus Global Open Photo Con­test, aimed at bring­ing to­gether pho­tog­ra­phers from around the world, will be open for en­tries un­til Novem­ber 20, 2015.

The com­pe­ti­tion is free to en­ter, and any­one can uti­lize any type of cam­era to cap­ture their en­try shots, from a smart­phone to a DSLR. The grand prize for the com­pe­ti­tion is the lat­est Olym­pus PEN cam­era and lens kit along with ¥1M (nearly NZ$13,000). As well as the over­all grand prize, there will be a first-, sec­on­dand third-prize cam­era for each cat­e­gory.

The judg­ing panel con­sists of six pho­tog­ra­phers and art di­rec­tors from across the globe, in­clud­ing Anne Day from the US, Kan Mimura from Ja­pan, and Kim Lau from Sin­ga­pore. This year’s cat­e­gories are Life, Fu­ture, Peo­ple, and Tech­ni­cal, with the themes of Birth, Places to Pre­serve, Smiles and Laugh­ter, and Macro and Art, re­spec­tively.
