A three-room exhibition showcasing three video installations of Shanghai-based artist Yang Fudong is open until January 25, 2016 at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki.

The three works — The Fifth Night (2010), Yejiang / The Nightman Cometh (2011), and The Coloured Sky: New Women II (2014) — that make up the exhibition, Yang Fudong: Filmscapes, have been commissioned by Auckland Art Gallery and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and curated by Ulanda Blair to make their first-ever appearance in Australasia.

Fudong’s focus is on looking at China through the eyes of young urban intellectuals who are exploring and discovering their place in the modern world, and he uses 35mm film and digital video to create his contemporary works.
