International competition features New Zealand section
The Sony World Photography Awards are open for entry, and, as part of the 2016 edition, the New Zealand National Award is open and aims to recognize the single best image by a New Zealand photographer.
Entrants can submit their images to any of the 10 Open categories of the competition, and the winner will be chosen from all the submissions made by New Zealand photographers. A winner and two runners-up will be selected, with prizes including Sony equipment, various types of World Photography Organization membership, and the winning image is to be exhibited at the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition in London. The categories included in this year’s Open section include Architecture, Arts and Culture, Enhanced, Low Light, Nature and Wildlife, Panoramic, People, Smile, Split Second, and Travel.
Entries close on January 5, 2016, and more information surrounding terms and conditions and how to enter can be found at worldphoto.org.
