World Press Photo heads to Wellington
The 58th World Press Photo exhibition has now closed in Auckland and is making its way down the North Island. It will open to Wellington locals, or those who find themselves in the region, on September 19, at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts.
The photographs displayed in this year’s exhibition were selected from 97,912 images submitted by 5692 individual photographers from more than 131 countries. Imagery in the competition is varied, with the categories into which photographers were able to enter their works including Contemporary Issues, Daily Life, General News, Long-term Projects, Nature, Portraits, Sports, and Spot News.
