Zeiss Loxia range of lenses
Classic photography meets modern technology with Zeiss’ Loxia range of compact lenses, specifically designed for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras. Together, they bring together the best of both worlds — the creative possibilities only available with manual focus, and the benefits of mirrorless full-frame photography.
With functionality perfectly pitched to Sony’s many strengths in the mirrorless game, the lenses are fully compatible, transmitting data to the respective body in order to trigger viewfinder magnification when required during manual focusing. As manual focus only, the range features a 180-degree focus ring rotation from closest focus to infinity. Plus, as a vital addition for filmmakers, each of the models allow users to deactivate the ‘clock’ of the aperture ring, making these lenses suitable for videography, as well as stills.
A 35mm and 50mm focal length are each based on Zeiss’ successful ZM models, with the 21mm newly joining the mix. The 35mm f/2 comprises an almost symmetric lens design made up of nine elements in six groups, lending itself to minimal distortion. The 50mm f/2 — a flexible all-rounder — offers precision sharpness via its smooth-as-silk manual focusing mechanism. And, despite its compact size, the 21mm f/2.8 offers a super-wide-angle 91-degree field of view, with outstanding image performance across the entire full-frame field.
Compact, light and extremely flexible, the Loxia range is the ideal companion for photographic and filmic exploration.
