SMART MELODY will be tested out over 1600m in to­mor­row’s Group 1 MRC One Thou­sand Guineas at Caulfield, although she keeps find­ing when asked.

The Kris Lees-trained filly turned in solid enough work on Tues­day when strode over 1000m 1.07.60 and 23.76 for her last 400m.

Sta­ble­mate EL DO­RADO DREAM­ING turned in a real eye catch­ing run last start for the Guineas.

She’s spot on now and breezed over 1000m with GEM SONG (Caulfield Guineas) on Tues­day, clock­ing 1.07.38 and 24.16 last for their last 400m.

An­other of the Guineas’ con­tenders, MU­SIC BAY, went 800m in 54.26 and 23.72 for the last 400m split.

It would pay to mon­i­tor moves Mick Price first starter SHOTMAKER in the Inglis Debu­tant Stakes.

This young­ster can gal­lop and has looked good in two tri­als to date at Caulfield.

He worked su­per on Tues­day morn­ing with PRINCESS OF QUEENS (North­wood Plume Stakes) over 800, clock­ing 51.69 and 22.69 for the fi­nal 400m.

The flashy UTZON showed up in a Cran­bourne tri­als dur­ing the week. He is re­ported to have his share of abil­ity and is ex­pected to run well here.

WIN­TER BRIDE has trained on since scor­ing last start.

She is a lead­ing con­tender when she steps out in the North­wood Plume Stakes (1200m) at Group 3 level. Sharp work over 600m on Tues­day, clock­ing 36.35. Spot on.

SYLPHEED worked 600m in 36.85 and can im­prove on re­cent ef­forts.

Henry Dwyer re­ported that SNITTY KITTY worked at Gee­long this week in readi­ness for the Schillachi Stakes.

Her work was first rate when she cov­ered 800m in 50.09 and a slick 600m split of 35.65.

It was an out­stand­ing run in the Moir and she is primed to run a cracker this time out.

Highly fancied Caulfield Stakes run­ner D’AR­GENTO had a look around on Tues­day morn­ing with Caulfield Guineas as­pi­rant and lead­ing fancy THE AU­TUMN SUN.

Both have had per­fect preps for their re­spec­tive as­sign­ments and will take a power of beat­ing on the day.

They worked over 1000m in 1.06.94 and 24.65 for last 400m with plenty left the tank.
