Waller filly on track to fire back home
BRAZILICA looks like making a more than handy race filly.
Her only start resulted in a good win on the Randwick/Kensington track on October 17 beating Hostwin Supreme by two lengths and running very good time.
The Redoute’s Choice filly heads to her home track at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow for the ATC Dynaton Sales & Hire Handicap (1200m) where she has drawn the rails and looks to have improved since her debut.
Chris Waller worked her on the course proper, 15m out, Tuesday morning with stablemate Checksum over 1000m in 1:08.60, her last 400m in 24.40s and final 200m 12.00 was a best of the morning effort from the pair.
Brazilica should be winning and the booking of Jason Collett can only add to her chances.
MAHALANGUR and MEROVEE can fight out the last race tomorrow,
ATC Bradford Energy Handicap (1500m).
Mahalangur has won his two starts this preparation in great style.
His last start win on October 20 was very strong when beating Articus by a length.
The son of O’Reilly has been a different horse this time in since having bone chips removed.
Team Hawkes have him going great and he should be bringing up a hat-trick of wins on the weekend.
Merovee ran on the same day (October 20) at Randwick when beaten two and a half lengths by Smart As You Think and was making up ground in the run to the line.
His trackwork on course proper on Tuesday was very good when working with stablemate Smiling Manolito over 1000m in 1:09.00, his last 400m in 24.00 with a great final 200m on 11.60.
He should show improvement off that type of work and trainer Chris Waller has engaged Glyn Schofield which is a bonus.
STAR OF MONSOON is a fresh horse since being gelded and he looks a good each-way chance in the ATC Bradford Block Handicap (1200m) for trainer Gerald Ryan and Jay Ford.
Star Of Monsoon was not asked to run time when clocked over 1000m on the inside grass, 7m out, last Saturday in 1:08.00, with a final 400m 25.33 and 200m 12.78.
It was perfect for a sprinter who has found winnable race.
ADANA put in a strong run to win fresh since being gelded an October 29 mid-weeker at Warwick Farm.
The Snitzel gelding has a good each-way chance in the VRC Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) for Chris Waller and James McDonald.
He has definitely improved in recent weeks and has always shown ability.
Adana left Rosehill in good order and is ready for his class rise this weekend.
