AQUA D’IVINA, from the Matthew Smith stable, has shown plenty of courage in her last two wins and she will be given her chance in Group company at Flemington tomorrow when she runs in the Group 2 Matriarch Stakes (2000m).
She has been coming along nicely since her last start and after a good piece of work Saturday, galloped on the Pro Ride on Tuesday over 1200m in 1.23.27 with her last 600m in 38.72 and final 200m 12.25 on the bridle.
She is peak condition and expect a bold showing from her tomorrow.
PIERATA was brilliant winning the Sydney Stakes on Everest day and no doubt the blinkers worked wonders with this four-year-old son of Pierro.
Trainer Greg Hickman has kept him ticking over with a nice trial last week at Royal Randwick and on Tuesday, he worked solo on the Pro Ride over 1000m in 1.07.78 with the final 400m in 24.84 and last 200m 11.71.
He runs in the Group 1 VRC Sprint Classic at Flemington tomorrow and will be very hard to beat.
The Steve Engelbrecht-trained mare HIGHWAY didn’t do a lot at her last start but she wasn’t far away at the finish.
On Tuesday morning, she worked on the A Grass over 1000m in 1.06.79, her final 400m in 23.04 and last 200m in 11.46.
She is going well and could turn her form around in race six at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow.
Stablemate GOLDFINCH is very speedy and I’m sure if she can lead on her own tomorrow, she will give a kick at the finish and go close to winning race nine.
On Tuesday, she galloped on the A Grass over 1000m in 1.11.32 with her final 400m in 22.24 and last 200m in 11.1.
James Cummings has two promising fillies in the first race at Rosehill and both will run well.
EXHILARATES worked on the Pro Ride over 800m in 54.16 with a final 200m in 11.52 while KIAMICHI worked over the same course and distance clocking 53.03 with the last 200m in 12.33.
