Cummings duo to Demolish rivals

The Sportsman Weekend - - The Trackwork Winners - WARREN HUNTLY

DEMOLITION and CHATUCHAK paired up for a workout on Tuesday morning and the James Cummings-trained stablemates are both in great shape to head to Caulfield tomorrow.

They finished off their 1000m worked impressively to cover the journey in 1.07.87 and their final 400m in 23.97.

Demolition has only been narrowly beaten at his two run this campaign and is sure to prove hard to beat while Chatuchak has trained on well since her run behind Smart Coupe who franked that form by running well in the Standish at Flemington on New Year’s Day.

CREEDENCE hasn’t had the best of like in his most recent runs but the Lindsay Park-trained galloper is holding his condition well and heads to Caulfield for his next start.

He cruised steadily over 1600m on Thursday morning and looked very fit heading back to the stables after completing his workout in 1.52.53 and running his last 400m in 27.41.

From the inside draw he should get every chance to turn his fortunes around tomorrow.

The Mike Moroney-trained BARTHELONA is ready to resume and he has been progressing well in recent weeks.

Following some encouraging performances in a couple of recent jumpouts, he worked in good style on Tuesday morning to clock 1.07.77 for 1000m and 24.32 his final 400m.

He boasts an impressive first-up record and looks set to perform well again when he resumes at Caulfield tomorrow.

TOP OF THE RANGE, also prepared by Moroney, worked home strongly over 2000m at Flemington last time out and he has come through that run in terrific order.

He looked bright and fit on Tuesday morning after covering 1200m in 1.20.23 and his closing 400m in 24.11.

With recent racing under his belt he is at leak fitness to head to Caulfield tomorrow and is ready to run to his best.

TOP ME UP had a short sharp hit out on Tuesday morning and the Team Hawkes-trained galloper had plenty of spring in his step after dashing up last 400m in 24.96.

The form through his first-up run has held up well with the win of Whispering Brook at Flemington on New Year’s Day and he should appreciate dropping in grade tomorrow.
