Rider Craig Newitt reported the gelding lost its footing when leaving barriers. Held up for clear running from the 400 metres until the 200 metres. KAMIEN Peter Gelagotis 15-AUG-21 CRAN Tactics queried. Rider reported it was not intention to lead, however, after beginning well, settled in that position with little effort. Race 3: MAGIC MAX Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle 29-MAY-21 CAUL Raced three wide without cover. MYNUMEROUNO Nick Ryan 14-JUL-21 SANH Commenced awkwardly. BRIGANTINE James Cummings 14-AUG-21 K GR Slow to begin, shifted out and bumped another rnr. A post-race vet exam revealed the colt to be lame (2/5) in the near hind leg. Tnr was advised that a clearance will be required prior to the colt’s next race / trial. BIFROST (NZ) Emma-Lee & David Browne 17-AUG-21 PAKS Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Race 4: DR DRILL (GB) Ciaron Maher & David Eustace 07-AUG-21 FLEM Rider reported from the wide gate, he had been instructed to settle back with cover and further, as gelding was up in trip, the stable did not want the gelding exposed too early. For this reason he waited until after straightening to shift out and placed the gelding under pressure approaching 300m. 17-JUL-21 FLEM Held up 50m-200m. R lost use of OS rein for stride passing 100m. AKTAU (GB) Michael Moroney 21-AUG-21 M V Raced keenly in the early stages. 31-JUL21 M V Raced keenly in the early stages. DARK DREAM Ben & JD Hayes 14-AUG21 CAUL When placed under pressure passing the 300m shifted in abruptly before being straightened by its rider. Hung in from the 100m and over the concluding stages was unable to obtain clear running and went to the line not fully tested. 24-JUL-21 CAUL Rdr said he was not overly disappointed with performance of horse and in his opinion would be better suited to races over a longer distance. SALSAMOR (NZ) Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young 31-JUL-21 M V COT- More forward. Settled midfield. Disappointed for a run near the 300m. DEGRAVES (IRE) Robert Hickmott 21AUG-21 M V Rider reported after a long time since racing peaked on its run near the 100m. Vetted, no abs. 19-JUN-21 FLEM Steadied near the 1500m to avoid heels. Laid inwards under pressure in the straight. Shifted in abruptly near the 250m when struck with the whip. SCOTTISH DANCER Andrew Bobbin 07-AUG21 FLEM Raced wide from 1000m. Brushed out off its course near the 400m and eased near the 250m. Rider reported it was the intention to settle closer however with cover. He added he was unable to gain cover and settled

Race 5: THE INFERNO Cliff Brown 14AUG-21 CAUL Raced three wide without cover. Rider reported the gelding raced keenly in the early and middle stages which may have been detrimental to its chances. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. PORTLAND SKY Matt Laurie 19-MAR-21 M V Began awkwardly. BOLD STAR Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle 27-MAR21 MORP When being restrained near 800 rolled out inconveniencing horse to outside. Post-vet revealed lame in the off hind leg. WISDOM OF WATER Annabel Neasham 05-JUN-21 E FM Over-raced in the early stages. Raced three wide with cover throughout. Laid out under pressure near the 150m and brushed ZANIAH. SIR KALAHAD Gavin Bedggood 18-AUG-21 SANH Rider reported that after being crossed by another runner near the 1000m she elected to shift to outside of that horse and as a result her mount raced keenly. SEPTEMBER RUN Chris Waller 17-APR21 RAND Began only fairly. When qst re performance, rdr reported he placed the mare under pressure from the 600m and making the turn took some time to balance up but in the straight failed run on as expected. A post-race vet exam rev no abs. Tnr was unable to offer an explanation for the mare’s performance and indicated mare would now be spelled.
Race 6: LA ROCQUE John McArdle 31JUL-21 M V COT- Intention to be further back. Settled at the rear. SCORCHED EARTH John Moloney 13-MAR-21 M V Began awkwardly. MAC ‘N’ CHEESE Tony & Calvin McEvoy 17-JUL-21 MRPK Slow to begin and then shortly after the start was hampered. PICARONES James Cummings 24-JUL-21 RHIL From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Passing the 200m bumped with runner and became momentarily unbalanced. Std after beginning awkwardly allowed mnt to stride fwd however began to race keenly in early stages, and after racing in a three wide position, she observed position behind the leaders near the 800m but was unable to take advantage of as mnt
racing too keenly, and a result allowed mnt continue fwd to lead. Tnr confirmed instructions. Added after missing start & overracing without cover meant filly was unable to finish off race as expected. A post-race vet exam rev no abs. COMMANDS THE FIELD Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young 20-AUG-21 BDGO Rdr said mount has a tendency to overrace so he elected to restrain and race with cover. He added when pace of
quickened mount took longer than expected to build momentum into race. Race 7: DALASAN Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas 17-APR-21 RAND COT: If begins well option to be ridden further forward; led. WILD PLANET Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes 12JUN-21 E FM Raced wide with cover for the majority of the event. Approaching 400 metres steadied from the heels of VICTOREM which was carried out by OUTBACK BARBIE. 15-MAY-21 DOOM Became unbalanced on jumping when SPLINTEX jumped out. ORDER OF COMMAND Danny O’Brien 07-AUG-21 FLEM Rider could offer no explanation for the poor performance. Vet reported no abnormalities. Follow up - will train on and look for softer racing surfaces. 24-JUL-21 CAUL Shifted in near the 100m to obtain clear running and then was disappointed for a run over concluding stages. Race 8: STREETS OF AVALON Shane Nichols 28-AUG-21 CAUL Rider reported that his mount did not show its usual leg speed from the barrier and for this reason settled further back than intended and that gelding then raced keenly midfield. 14-AUG-21 CAUL Weakened from the 250m. A post‑race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary clearance will be required prior racing again. THE CHOSEN ONE (NZ) Murray Baker & Andrew Forsman 17-APR-21 RAND Began awkwardly and from the wide barrier was shifted behind rnrs in the early stages. 03-APR-21 RHIL Near 700m contacted on the hindquarter and became unbalanced.

RR after being wide, he improved to obtain the lead, however the gelding over-raced and in his opinion may be better suited with the removal of the blinkers.
