Soulful Price on song

The Sunday Mail (Queensland) - Escape - - ESCAPE TO THE GOLD COAST -

RICK Price possesses one of the most celebrated and soulful voices in contemporary Australian music.

In a diverse and successful recording career spanning almost two decades, the inspiration for Price’s latest album Revisited, could not have come more clearly.

‘‘ Whenever I go out and do an acoustic show, without fail, people will say to me, ‘ when are you going to make an acoustic record?’,’’ Price said.

‘‘ So really this was borne out of requests from people asking me to do it. That was the inspiration behind it, to give people a different look at the songs because when you listen to the old recorded versions, they were done 15 to 18 years ago, they are very different to how I sing and perform them today.’’

The singer-songwriter has spent the past year touring the United States and Europe with Tommy Emmanuel, and is bringing his acoustic show to Twin Towns.

His experience as a performer shines through, connecting with his audience with his extensive repertoire of ballads and blues songs.

Price is joined by special guest Abby Skye ( pictured inset), a dynamic vocalist and acoustic performer, with hits ranging from classic to modern and everything in between.

Rick Price is performing at Twin Towns on July 16 from 8.30pm. Tickets are $ 12 for members and $ 22 for non-members.
