ADVENTURE travel company World Expeditions has unveiled a new range of Canadian active holidays for travellers wishing to explore the country’s great outdoors. The holidays include a selection of both guided and self-guided hiking and cycling adventures that include accommodation, luggage transfers, bike rentals, as well as comprehensive maps and route notes. Most of the holiday itineraries incorporate parts of the nearly 24,000km Trans Canada Trail, a coast-to-coast network scheduled for completion by 2017 that will become the world’s longest recreational trail. The holidays will be offered through Great Canadian Trails, a new division based out of World Expeditions’ Ottawa office. World Expeditions chief executive Sue Badyari said it had been a long-held ambition to operate a range of adventure holidays in Canada. “Our travellers will enjoy the freedom to travel at their pace,” Badyari said. “For example, they can cycle across Prince Edward Island with all of the logistics organised, complete an end-to-end hike along Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula without needing to camp or carry a full pack, or hike a remote and rugged stretch along the Fundy coast carrying just a day pack.” More: Visit worldexpeditions.com or ph 1300 720 000.
