GO STRAIGHT TO THE CORE
QUEENSLAND cider lovers will converge on Stanthorpe next month for the state’s first cider festival. The Sutton’s Cider Festival, which will be held on May 18, promises to be a celebration of the apple that made the Granite Belt town famous by showcasing cider varieties and locally made produce featuring the humble fruit. Held at Sutton’s Cidery, it will include tastings of Sutton’s dry and semi-sweet ciders, along with entertainment by Brisbane trio Blonde Chocolate. Sutton’s Cidery founder David Sutton will also be on hand to explain the making of cider and the process of using cider to make apple brandy and apple cider vinegar. Bookings are essential and the ticket price of $90 a person includes food, cider and entertainment. For more information, visit suttonsfarm.com.au or contact Sutton’s Farm on 4685 2464.
