Selfies ruin innocence
THE obsession with selfies and social media is undermining childhood innocence, an awardwinning writer warns.
Jacqueline Wilson, known for the Tracy Beaker young reader books, warned that girls were succumbing to an “awful kind of self-consciousness”.
At the London Book Fair she said: “When doing thousands of selfies with girls, they all have this special selfie face they’ve practised in the mirror.”
She also condemned Twitter for the pressure to put up posts to garner social approval.
